Although vinyl and composite products are easy to care for, Maintenance does not only make the product function at maximal capacity but also goes a long way in ensuring that the product lasts through its maximum lifeline. AMSCO Windows are easy to maintain, and here are some tips to help you through in cleaning and maintaining our product in your home.
· Before you wash the window, make sure to vacuum the debris from the sill and track areas.
· Make sure to clean glass and window or door frame with mild dish soap and water. When done, rinse thoroughly with clean water and clean dry with soft cloth to avoid water spots.
· Never use rough, coarse or abrasive cleaners on the surface as they could harm the surface and create scratches on them.
· Always check to ensure that the drainage holes are not being obstructed by dirt or any other particles both inside and outside the door or window in the base of the frame. Composite windows do not have drainage holes. However, it is important to note that if the window is stacked, there may be drainage holes between the units.
· Always make sure to avoid washing the glass in direct sunlight.
· As stated earlier, always rinse with clean water and if possible, dry thoroughly.
· When trying to clean the screens, ensure first to remove them, then wash them on a clean, flat surface with mild soap and water and a soft brush. When done, rinse entirely and wipe dry before reinstalling them.
· Doors and windows with moving parts come with hardware components that should be oiled from time to time. In salt-air environments, these components should be lubricated monthly.
· After wiping clean, Make sure to use a silicone spray with a non-petroleum-based propellant on the door or sliding window tracks, rollers and locking hardware.
· Although mild, nonabrasive soaps are usually the safest for most dirt and stain removal, any cleaner you use should first be tested in an area that isn't quickly noticeable.
