You know its fall season when the trees begin to change
color, and the leaves begin to fall. This is a new season
arriving, and it's sure the perfect time for you to do all of your cleaning
chores and prepare, your home for the
cold winter season. Fall is the perfect season to clean those areas you haven’t
cleared since the year started. Cleaning this area now it's also easier than
doing it when everywhere is cold outside and you want to stay cozy under your
mattress.
By tackling these critical to-dos, it will help keep your
home clean and looking great and at the same time be prepared to tackle Winter.
To do it right you need to know what you are doing. Here's where to start:
1. Clean out your
closet
Fall is no doubt the perfect time to clean out your closets.
This is the season to pack and keep your summer clothes for a year and bring
out the c=ones for the colder seasons. Time to bring out stuff like coats,
boots, gloves, and other cold weather gear. Take your time to empty your
closets and clean cobwebs and dust. Also, sweep and vacuum the floor for dust
and dirt.
2. Clean under
furniture and appliances
When was the last time you lift your heavy furniture and
appliances to clean underneath? It’s
been long right? Fall is here for you, and this is the best time to that; clean
out under tables, sofas, and big appliances like refrigerators, washing
machine, etc.
3. Clean windows,
blinds, and curtains
Dirt, dust, pollen, bugs and the likes will have pile up
around your windows over the spring and season months. So, start from your
window and give it a good cleaning. You can use surface cleaner or soapy water
for the cleaning. However, the first thing you might want to do before cleaning
the windows is your curtains (you can either wash them yourself or hire the
service of a professional).
4. Flip your
mattress
When you turn back, your furniture and appliances don’t
forget to turn your mattress over too. Doing this will help prevent your
mattress to slump due to body impression on certain spots. Also, sprinkle some
baking soda on it and vacuum it up to neutralize odors.
5. Tackle the
Refrigerator
Well, lifting it to clean out the dirt under it is not
enough. Open the refrigerator and check for expired content and discard
anything that you don’t need anymore. Clean out the shelf, dust and lint
buildup. Doing this can reduce the cooling performance of your refrigerator.
6. Clean carpets
either DIY or hire a professional
Cleaning your carpet is not that hard, but for old people,
this might be hard, so you can rent a machine at almost any home improvement
center or have a professional come to the house. The bottom line is that fall is
the best time to clear out all the dust, dirt and other bacteria from your
carpet.
