Our world
follows a certain balance, as many scientists say. It’s called ecology or the
ecological balance. But isn’t it just annoying when you have insects and
bacteria eating and damaging your house, particularly your window? Uh-oh.
That’s definitely not a good news.

We
understand that these elements are just doing what they ought to do, as ecology
explains, but it doesn’t mean we can let them ruin the peace of our homes,
right? Therefore, we also have to do what we need to in order to eliminate
these elements and keep our home for a long time.
Here are
lists of some of the elements that can damage your windows and how they do it.
Termites
Here’s a
news for those houses with wooden areas, especially windows, doors and some
parts of the wall. You might have a termite problem at home.
Termites’
damage is one of the common problems in house maintenance, particularly those
houses made of woods. According to studies, the most common type of termites
there is in the US is the eastern subterranean termite. And as termites do,
subterranean termites live in colonies, where there are about 15,000,000
termites in each colony. That’s a lot of termites, don’t you think?!
Each colony
can eat about a pound of wood per day which you may say isn’t much, but when
not easily detected, this number can accumulate over weeks or months of
munching into your woods. And then, that’s going to be a huge problem.
But don’t
fret. This problem can be solved. In the following articles, we will discuss
how you can terminate termites from your home and repair the damage.
Molds Problems
Due to
changing seasons, our house is prone to moisture, humidity and limited amount
of sunlight entering our atmosphere. This is a perfect condition for molds to
grow anywhere in the house.
At first
glance, molds may not seem harmful to anyone. But when left unattended, it can
cause rot and deterioration to the part that it sticks to. In this way, mold
could be a huge problem for house owners.
Molds is
not only harmful to your house but as well as the health of your family. Since
molds are fungi, they can spread through the ventilation inside the house. And
they bring harmful effects to some people.
According
to Center for Disease Control and Prevention, to those who are sensitive to
molds, it can cause nasal stuffiness, eye irritation, wheezing or skin irritation.
There are also people who are allergic to molds and exposure to molds can cause
severe reactions to them.
But is
there a way to get rid of this problem? No worries. There are ways to avoid
molds getting in your house. You will know more about these on the next
articles.
Corrosion/Rust
If termites
are the enemy of woods, rust is equally an enemy of steel. Rust can cause
deterioration and breakage to the metal, which then leads to permanent damage.
So how does
rust get in your window and house? Just like molds, rust is caused by a metal’s
constant exposure to humidity and moisture. This will then create a chemical
reaction forming rust and slowly develop in the metal.
Left
unattended, rust can spread as fast as 4-5 days and create permanent damages to
the iron. But this is not something to be afraid of because just like the other
elements, it can easily be avoided. Find out ways to avoid or eliminate rusting
or corrosion on our next articles.
Finding
these elements anywhere in our home can be saddening, but it teaches us one
important thing – to always clean our house. This is the fastest way to avoid
these elements even before they form.
